The Hills are Alive

The hills are alive with the sound of film production.  Robert De Niro and John Travolta have been filming  Killing Season at Tallulah Gorge and Black Rock Mountain State Park.   Rabun County is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Deliverance and Helen, Georgia is preparing to come to The Next Cool Event with the Sound of Music.  Word has it that Dan Truhitte, who was “Rolfe” the young Nazi in the original film has been working with some Georgia producers on a concert as the only remaining cast member to still be performing.

We hope to see him February 17 & 18 as the biggest entertainment event of its kind kicks off with the Red Carpet Cocktail event on Friday, the What A Life daytime experience Saturday from eleven am to four pm and the VIP Gala Saturday night.

The Sound of Music set design was the idea of Barbara Heil-Sonneck, originally from Bavaria, who looks forward to sharing some of her favorite things.

Barbara  partners with Carol Powell of the Riverpark Inn and Conference Center of Helen to produce a taste of the beautiful northeast mountain region.  Helen is a popular spot for tourists and production companies alike.  Barbara’s company, Design 2 Sell engages in residential staging.
