I think by now we have all answered that question. Here we are. Just out of curiosity, I contacted a psychic earlier this year that several members of the design community swear by. This woman no longer lives in Georgia but she took my phone call as I pondered the future. Who knows? I have a feeling that those with especially psychic ability are much like weather forecasters…if the clouds are gathering, it might likely rain. Of course the winds can always shift and blow that prediction off course.
One of the things she predicted is that I would lose someone close to me and that the death would take less than two weeks. A week later, I got a phone call that my mother had taken ill and in a week she passed away. Seriously, now I wished that I had taped the phone conversation.
Her other predictions centered around this year and all of the mystery that seems to be surrounding 2012. Not gloom and doom but a perspective that our world is shifting and if those who believe that the world is coming to an end in December of this year, we will all be transported and won’t care anyway.
So, I’ve decided to take this year by storm and spend as much time as possible with the people I’ve come to love in the creative community and do the things that I’ve been putting off for several years. Yesterday, I ripped out my entire front yard (I didn’t actually do it myself, that would be crazy) but hired Solterra Landscape to completely redo it. Solterra did the Edward Scissorhands exhibit at The Next Cool Event. Owner Dixie Speck impressed me from the start with her down to earth (no pun intended) style.
So, I’m thinking that if the world comes to an end, I’ll have a really cool yard if nothing else.
